Introduction
The sustainable development of public goods relies heavily on funding and financial supporting mechanisms. We recognize the importance of getting funds at the first step, while a sustainable lifecycle of Public Goods needs supports from various sources.
The production of public goods requires support from multiple stakeholders, including builders, researchers, communities, academia, public sectors, foundations, and bridges connecting Web3 with the real world. We explore how to achieve efficient collaboration among these parties to better support the sustainable development of public goods.
From experience, DAOs and decentralized governance mechanisms have positive effect on the development of excellent Public Goods projects. This time, in Tokyo, we aim to explore how collaborative efforts and DAOs can boost public goods.
What is Supporting the Commons
The concept behind Supporting the Commons draws inspiration from Funding the Commons. Funding the Commons is an event series that explores new models and mechanisms for funding commons and public goods.
Supporting the Commons aims to explore coordination mechanisms among builders, researchers, and communities to effectively develop and maintain public goods after getting funding.
We recognize the importance of getting funds at the first step, while a sustainable lifecycle of Public Goods needs supports from various sources. Therefore, we focus on practical solutions for the full lifecycle of public goods projects, ensuring sustainable development and collaborative efforts beyond financial support.
Supporting the Commons provides a platform for builders to share their views on comprehensive support for Public Goods by hosting side events during major Ethereum events.
