8Bit Vibes: Game Design Workshop & Party
Designing games is fun... so let's hang out and make some video games together!
Come early to learn and drop by anytime for the party, tickets €10+
This Saturday, we'll be sharing professional workshops on designing pixel art, composing game music and coding 8-bit style games for the Pico8 platform — and the classic NES.
At 1pm, we'll start by dissecting 8bit classic games to see what makes them so much fun. Then, you’ll take your own inspiration and ideas and create a game prototype that’s totally your own. From 5-6p, we will share out our prototypes—then we party!
Artists, musicians, hackers, gamers, scientists, filmmakers, storytellers, students, educators, curious beginners – all are welcome!
This event is accessible to all, no experience necessary, good gender balance, and also a good mix of vibecoding and platform-focused hardcore expertise.
In our vibe coding workshops, we are confident that we can help everyone learn to design, iterate and tinker with games.
And if you want to learn some 6502 assembly instead of vibe coding, we can help with that!
We promise great music, weird new games and a lot of fun creative people. Get a ticket and drop in!
Please bring a Windows, Mac, or Linux laptop — we'll provide the software!
