Zero Waste Policy Panel: Creating a Circular Future
Join us for a discussion on zero waste policy including Ann Arbor's circular economy strategy, the effort to overturn Michigan's ban on local plastic policy and more.
We'll be joined by experts working in the policy space including:
Missy Stults, Sustainability and Innovations Director, City of Ann Arbor
Sue Shink, Michigan State Senator
Lisa Disch, Ann Arbor City Council Ward 1 Representative
Please submit any question you have ahead of the event through the registration form, or email them to umich@zerowaste.org.
Where to go:
The panel will take place at the Annenberg Auditorium in the Ford School of Public Policy at 735 S State St, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Parking in downtown Ann Arbor can be tricky, so please leave plenty of buffer to get there. The closest public parking garage is the Forest Avenue Parking Garage.
Once you get to the Ford School, enter from the main entrance at the corner of State & Hill Street. The auditorium will be through the lobby on your right. Doors will open at 6:00 pm.
What to bring:
We are trying to keep this event as zero waste as possible, so please bring:
a reusable water bottle (the Ford School has water refill stations)
A container and cutlery for food
A reusable cloth napkin
Questions you have about Zero Waste Policy
We will have some extra plates and cutlery but are asking guests to bring their own if possible both as an exercise in practicing and modeling zero waste, and to offer limited dishware to those who are not able to bring their own containers or are walk-in attendees.
Light refreshments from El Harissa (in reusable catering containers) will be provided.
By attending this event you will be entered in a live prize drawing for two tickets to a Zingerman’s Food Tasting Event ($100 value), and a $25 gift certificate to Blank Slate Creamery.
This event is part of the UM Zero Waste Week, in collaboration with A²ZERO, ECO UM, ZeroWaste.Org, the Student Sustainability Coalition, Trash Club and the Michigan Institute for Progressive Policy.
