Principles: or Why Being Pragmatic is Impractical
Join us for our in-person discussion on principles and pragmatism. Many people believe principles are "simplistic approximations" at best and "distracting abstractions" at worst. Instead they want to be more practical and act without the confines of "dogma".
There are good reasons for these believes, but they often misunderstand the nature and purpose of principles. Principles can be very powerful tools that enable you to solve complex problems in your life and work that are unmanageable without them. In our discussion we will cover both sides of this issue. As a background we have prepared a few relevant quotes from various Ayn Rand essays, who has is very strong advocate of principled thinking.
