Join us for the 2nd edition of Sauti Sessions, where we turn the spotlight on one of Kenya’s most urgent crises: femicide. This edition features Njeri Wa Migwi, co-founder of Usikimye, a frontline voice in the fight against gender-based violence and a relentless advocate for justice for victims whose names must never be forgotten.
We will also honour the life of Tiffany Wanyonyi, through the powerful CNN As Equals feature that exposed the toll on women in law enforcement, with Tiffany’s family in attendance. The evening will weave together art, performance, and dialogue as acts of truth-telling and resistance, from an art exhibition by Thayu Kilili (Creatives Garage) and Joy Wanga (Locha Gallery), to moving performances by Spontaneous The Poet and Wandiri Karimi of the African Women’s Orchestra, to the screening of CNN As Equals: The Life and Death of Tiffany Wanyonyi, culminating in raw conversations on justice, memory, and the power of story to drive change.
While attendance is free, we invite you to consider contributing to Usikimye in support of their critical work with survivors of gender-based violence.
