The event will focus on innovations in Apache Iceberg (https://iceberg.apache.org/)
We will discuss topics around Open-Source Data Analytics, Open Table Formats (OTF), software concepts like Transactional Data Lakes or Lakehouse, advancements in AI/ML including generative AI, and many more topics of mutual interest that leverage Apache Iceberg.
During the sessions, we will provide you tips to get involved within the community, you will learn more about how the community is collaborating to grow the technology, and software/solutions that ease problem solving and improve user experiences.
Presentations
Jeremy Song - Principal Engineer from AWS Glue
Oversees the Glue products such as Iceberg optimizations and stats collection. Talk about Glue's Iceberg table optimizations. We launched Iceberg compaction optimization last year, and recently launched snapshot expiration and orphan file deletion optimizations. We will talk about some of the improvements we have done to the OSS Iceberg maintenance jobs, and what we want to collaborate with the community in the future.

Developer's Guide to PyIceberg: This presentation provides an overview of the iceberg-python
project, covering its evolution from past to present and looking ahead at what's in store for the future of Iceberg on Python. We'll also explore some powerful features you can integrate into your current data stack today.
