Singapore Design Awards Ceremony 2025
Programme Synopsis
The Singapore Design Awards was first conceived in 1988 and unveiled by then Prime Minister of Singapore Mr. Lee Kuan Yew at the first Singapore International Design Forum. The awards seek to address current challenges that Singapore is facing, serving as a launchpad for designers to transform them into opportunities for innovative design solutions.
This edition, in partnership with the National Council of Social Service, the design challenge focuses on encouraging and empowering “youths in need” such that they can achieve their goals, build meaningful connections, and thrive as individuals.
Youths form a vital part of our social fabric and are the future of the nation. However, some face unique and multifaceted challenges, such as socioeconomic disadvantages, family instability, school disengagement or mental health conditions. These youths may often require support across multiple areas to effectively navigate their circumstances, overcome their challenges and realise their potential.
Join us at the Singapore Design Awards Ceremony as we celebrate the prototyping journey of our three finalists and witness the unveiling of the grand winner!
The event will be graced by:
Ms. Sim Ann
Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of National Development
DBCS Patron, Chair of the Presidential Advisory Commission
Mr. Eric Chua
Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Social and Family Development
Additionally, visit the accompanying exhibition to delve deeper into the finalists' projects, discover submissions from other talented participants and view a selection of prototypes on display!
