✨ A Revelation in Verse: A Visual Poetry Exhibition by Elizabeth Shanaz

​Join us for an immersive evening on Tuesday, June 24th at 6PM celebrating the poetry and creative vision of Elizabeth Shanaz, a writer and visual storyteller whose work explores the intersection of Muslim womanhood, first-generation identity, and diasporic memory.

​This intimate exhibit at the BG Clubhouse blends poetry with visual mediums to reimagine how language can live in physical space. Guests are invited to view the works at their leisure, enjoy light refreshments, and engage in a conversation between Elizabeth and Trisha Sakhuja-Walia, co-founder of Brown Girl Magazine.

​The Q&A will explore Liz’s journey as a writer, the recurring motifs in her work, and the process behind two featured collections: The Revelation Series and Anatomy of the Ave — culminating in a live reading of select poems.

​🎤 Open Mic Opportunity:

​After the Q&A, we’ll open the floor for an intimate open mic session. Up to 5 attendees will be selected to share their own poetry in response to the exhibit’s themes. Email us a short bio and poetry in advance to be considered.
