About Event

On August 20, join us virtually to see locally made documentary-style short films about the incredible work being done in our region. At this event, we will showcase Resilience, the story of how Ahmad Hilal Abid founded the House of Wisdom; West Shore, about a canoe family during the 2023 Canoe Journey to Muckleshoot; Fascia, featuring poet Quaniqua Williams; and Ceremony of Awareness, an intimate portrait by director Remy Styrkowicz.

We'll be joined by some of the filmmakers and those featured in the films, for a Q&A following the screening.

We created this event to elevate the importance of storytelling as a way to educate leaders and other decision-makers of the innovative work being done in our region, and inspire collaboration and partnerships to become part of health equity work.
