About This Skills Clinic: This clinic covers the essential strategies for securing funding for early-stage startups, focusing on the various options available and how to approach them effectively. Participants will explore different types of funding, from bootstrapping and private investors (angel investors and venture capital) to crowdfunding and non-dilutive sources from government and /or grants agencies. The session will delve into how to prepare a compelling funding pitch that resonates with both investors and grant providers, covering key components such as market opportunity, business model, and financial projections. Additionally, the clinic will provide insights into what investors and grant agencies look for and how to align your funding strategy with your startup’s goals. Best practices for managing relationships with investors and grant agencies, as well as making the most of the capital raised, will also be discussed.
