βπ Featured Speakers and Topics
βFlorian Suri-Payer (Cornell University) β Autobahn: Seamless high speed BFT
βThis talk introduces Autobahn, a novel BFT consensus protocol designed to offer low latency, high throughput, and seamless recovery from intermittent network failures. The Autobahn architecture allows every replica to act as a proposer, and implements a modular interface that allows for plug and play "motorization" of existing consensus protocol. Today, Autobahn is adopted in real-world deployments, e.g., by Somnia and Sei.
βPatrick OβGrady (Founder, Commonware) β Reducing Block Time with Buffered Signatures
βPatrick introduces a strategy for deferring verification during consensus message processing that both reduces CPU usage and block finalization latency.
βCommonwareβs (open source) research focuses on foundational improvements to blockchain architecture, and this talk gives a peek into their low-level engineering approach to building faster chains.
βBabak Poorebrahim Gilkalaye (Senior Cryptographer at Category Labs) β RaptorCast: Messaging for Decentralized Systems
βBabak presents RaptorCast, a novel messaging protocol that leverages UDP and erasure coding instead of traditional TCP to ensure faster, fault-tolerant communication in peer-to-peer systems. This talk will dig into the bandwidth efficiency and implications for decentralized messaging layers.
