β€‹πŸ™οΈ Welcome to The Boiler Room in NYC, hosted by B-Harvest and Manifold!

A high-signal gathering for blockchain researchers, engineers, and protocol builders.

No shilling. Just real talks on consensus, execution, and networking infra.

Come by for some expert talks, panel discussions, and networking hosted by B-Harvest and Manifold!

β€‹πŸ—“ Date: June 27th, 2025
πŸ“ Location: Private venue in NYC (open once approved)
πŸ•š Time: 11AM – 3PM

  • 11am – 12pm: Registration & Welcome Networking

  • 12pm – 2pm: Technical Talks & Panel Discussions

  • 2pm – 3pm: Networking & Open Discussions

β€‹πŸ”§ What to Expect

  • Talks from top minds in consensus, networking, and execution

  • Panel discussions on building performant blockchain

  • Food, drinks, and meaningful peer-to-peer convo

β€‹πŸŽ™ Featured Speakers and Topics

  • Florian Suri-Payer (Cornell University) – Autobahn: Seamless high speed BFT

    • This talk introduces Autobahn, a novel BFT consensus protocol designed to offer low latency, high throughput, and seamless recovery from intermittent network failures. The Autobahn architecture allows every replica to act as a proposer, and implements a modular interface that allows for plug and play "motorization" of existing consensus protocol. Today, Autobahn is adopted in real-world deployments, e.g., by Somnia and Sei.

  • Patrick O’Grady (Founder, Commonware) – Reducing Block Time with Buffered Signatures

    • Patrick introduces a strategy for deferring verification during consensus message processing that both reduces CPU usage and block finalization latency.

    • Commonware’s (open source) research focuses on foundational improvements to blockchain architecture, and this talk gives a peek into their low-level engineering approach to building faster chains.

  • Babak Poorebrahim Gilkalaye (Senior Cryptographer at Category Labs) – RaptorCast: Messaging for Decentralized Systems

    • Babak presents RaptorCast, a novel messaging protocol that leverages UDP and erasure coding instead of traditional TCP to ensure faster, fault-tolerant communication in peer-to-peer systems. This talk will dig into the bandwidth efficiency and implications for decentralized messaging layers.
