Mapping AI’s Macro Impact: Advancing shared prosperity
This cross-sector technical workshop unpacks emerging academic and policy models on how artificial intelligence might influence Australia's prosperity—examining its potential to support wellbeing across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
The workshop will evaluate how AI-driven productivity gains can translate into meaningful improvements across all five dimensions of Australia's Wellbeing Framework—helping decision-makers ensure that AI benefits are inclusive, sustainable, and advance shared prosperity for all Australians.
Guided by Co-Heads of the AI CoLab Sam Bide (a reformed economist) and Paul Hubbard (the Masked Economist)—participants will explore how different economic approaches (task-based, growth-accounting, and endogenous-growth models) can inform our understanding of AI's distributed impacts across Australian communities.
AI CoLab events are intentionally open and collaborative. We capture photos, audio, and AI-generated transcripts so we can remix key insights for the AI CoLab Alliance community. This is always done in line with the Charter’s values; transparent, ethical innovation and knowledge sharing to accelerate collective learning (see join.aicolab.org). By participating in an AI CoLab event, you agree to your contributions being captured and shared in accordance with this policy.
