About Event

 Join Women Who Hardware & Viam for a dynamic discussion on the future of robotics & automation on August 8th at Viam HQ! This evening of talking shop will be led by three women from diverse backgrounds who are all experts in different facets of Robotics: 

  • Suma Reddy is an entrepreneur, organizer and educator committed to helping solve our society’s systemic climate challenges. She is currently a co-founder and CEO of Gather, which builds simplified robotic tools for farms and farmworkers to improve harvest efficiency and farmworker safety, and a co-founder of Riffle Ventures, an innovation studio focused on unlocking climate innovation using an ecosystem and equity-driven approach. She is a serial agriculture tech + climate tech entrepreneur, an adjunct professor, is an active member in inclusive tech communities, and has been awarded the White House Champion of Change Award for her LGBTQ advocacy work. She is a graduate of The Wharton School (MBA),

  • Rand Hidaya is the lead engineer on the RDK components team at Viam robotics & holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in the Robotics and Rehabilitation Laboratory. Her interests are divided between robotics, vehicles, and manufacturing, especially when considering the human factors that power and interact with all three fields

  • Tahiya Salam is the lead data and machine learning engineer at Viam with a PhD in Electrical and Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Her graduate research focused on the intersection of multi-robot teams, dynamical systems, and machine learning.
