About Event

Climatetech neighbors here in Houston and allies who have come into town for Houston Energy & Climate Week, please join us for a social run, walk, amble, or stroll around beautiful Rice University.

Meet us by the Rice University main entrance at Main Street & Sunset Boulevard. Under the canopy of beautiful live oaks, we will make our way around the 5k Rice Outer Loop, a flat trail with multiple water fountains and bathrooms along the way. As we swing by the Rice Village, feel free to peel off for breakfast or coffee.

While we move our bodies, we will share, hear, and cultivate ideas for making progress on the energy transition. We will start promptly at 6:30 to ensure that everyone has time to get ready for other Houston Energy & Climate Week events.

Beyond providing a beautiful 5k loop, Rice provides many other sources of inspiration for Houston Energy & Climate Week:

* Rice is home to the Rice Sustainability Institute, which houses several energy transition centers, including the Rice Carbon Hub.
* Modern carbon nanotechnology, which plays an outsized role in decarbonizing many of today's most challenging industries, began - and continues - at Rice.
* JFK gave his famous Moonshot speech at historic Rice Stadium, and it continues to inspire the climatetech moonshots today, such as Rice spinouts, DexMat and Syzygy Plasmonics.

We welcome you whether your focus is hydrogen, carbon, hydrocarbons, or something else entirely. If your passion is solving the existential crisis of our time, join "your people" this morning - and for good.
