About Event

This group will hold space for each other and create a container where our art, our craft takes center stage. In this sacred circle, we will show up for our art by letting our inner child play, excavating our buried dreams, forging creative alliances, mourning the selves we abandoned, identifying our blockers, and celebrating the unique and beautiful gifts each of us bring to the world.

"We are meant to midwife dreams for one another.

When we are dealing with people’s dreams - their visions, really - we are in the realm of the sacred."

- Julia Cameron, The Artist's Way

🧑‍🎨Who it’s for

Artists who are seeking community. Those who are excited about supporting other artists in their growth and are looking to be supported in their own. I think this circle will be especially useful for those who are: wrestling with their identity as an artist, about to embark on a big project, wanting to make more space for their art, or seeking new perspectives in how they think about the role of their art in their life.

🤔What to expect

The circles will be loosely structured into three parts: (1) introspection 📔, (2) offerings 🎁, and (3) asks 🤲 (more info below). For the introspection portion, I’ll be offering some prompts, but you can always go off course if you want to dig into something else.

Each session will be bookended with a short opening and closing candle 🕯️ritual.

Please note: You will unlikely have time during these circles to actually do your art! However, I would not be surprised if after our community takes shape, we end up finding some ad hoc times to do our art side by side :)

🎒What to bring to each session

  1. An offering 🎁: This can take many forms. Some ideas for what to share: something meaningful you can across recently; a quote you read; your art(!) or gifts; where you feel you provide support to other artists (skills, knowledge, time)

  2. An ask 🤲: This can also take many forms, but is about getting comfortable receiving support and allowing this community to hold you up as an evolving artist. Some questions to ponder: How can this community support you? What are your goals or dreams? What are you struggling with? What do you view as major areas of self-doubt or insecurities?

  3. A journal 📔 and something to write with ✍️
