The Space Between: Designing Spaces that Connect People (Screening & Panel) at Design Week Calgary
The Space Between is a growing collection of short films produced by hcma architecture + design. Each one offers a glimpse into the lives of the people who use the public buildings we design: the people we design for. In each short film, you’re invited into a personal story, with real individuals sharing how these community spaces have touched their lives.
Join us for a special screening of The Space Between short film series, followed by a panel of experts exploring the human impact of design. Together, we’ll explore questions like: How does design facilitate human connection? What does it mean to design for people first? And is good design truly invisible, or just hiding in plain sight?
Whether you’re a designer, a city-builder, or a community member, this conversation invites you to reflect on the role of design in the public realm—and our shared responsibility to create spaces that consider and embrace everyone.
