HEI Kenya Founder Speaker Series
iHUB by Co-creation HUB (CcHUB), Africa's largest innovation hub, is dedicated to harnessing social capital and technology to drive economic prosperity across the continent. With a presence in six African countries—Lagos, Abuja, Ijebu-Ode (Nigeria), Kigali (Rwanda), Windhoek (Namibia), Nairobi (Kenya), and Togo—CcHUB catalyzes transformative solutions that address pressing social and economic challenges.
As part of its Higher Education Institutions (HEI) Practice, CcHUB aims to drive innovation within higher education institutions and empower them to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s economic development. Innovation is a key driver of economic transformation, and research-based startups have the potential to unlock groundbreaking solutions in various sectors. However, a major challenge for these startups—especially in African markets—is securing adequate funding to scale and commercialize research-driven innovations. This event will bring together startup founders, investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders to explore how more capital can be deployed to support research-based innovation.
This event will achieve the following objectives:
Identify the key funding gaps faced by research-based startups.
Showcase Success Stories: Provide a platform for startup founders who have successfully secured funding for research-driven ventures.
Explore investment opportunities in research-driven startups and discuss what investors look for in such ventures.
Discuss the role of government, universities, and other institutions in mobilizing funding for research commercialization.
Facilitate networking between startup founders, investors, and policymakers to drive actionable solutions.
Join us as we explore how more capital can be deployed to support research-based innovation!
