About Event

The Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC) is a flagship programme of SMU Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE). The biennial competition, named after Singapore's founding Prime Minister, serves as a convening platform that brings together innovative minds from around the world to tackle global challenges through entrepreneurship.

As part of the LKYGBPC, the Changemakers Conversations series plays a vital role by hosting thought leadership panel discussions. These conversations feature industry experts, tech startups, and academia who delve into critical topics such as the demand for sustainable urban solutions, the potential of artificial intelligence, and the transformative power of youth entrepreneurship.

This event will feature fireside chats by two power-packed panels, as well as elevator pitches and booth showcases from finalists of the previous LKYGBPC.

Panel 1: Sparking the Sustainability Revolution
Featuring visionary founders Pierre Paslier from Notpla and Adam Maxwell from Voyage Foods, this panel moderated by Prof Tamas Makany showcases how they are pioneering groundbreaking solutions that challenge the status quo and redefine what’s possible in the realm of sustainability. Discover how they are driving change, creating eco-friendly alternatives, and shaping a future where sustainable practices are not just an option but a necessity.

Panel 2: Rocking the World of Tech
Meet the next wave of technological innovation with founders Michael Biercuk from Q-CTRL, Hon Weng Chong from Cortical Labs, and Tom Darrah from Koloma as they redefine the boundaries of what's possible in tech, and the session moderated by George-Cristian Potrivitu from Aliena. At the forefront of quantum computing, brain-computer interfaces, and harnessing clean hydrogen, these companies are driving the tech revolution, transforming industries, and unlocking new possibilities for the future.

LKYGBPC Finalist Spotlight
Get inspired by LKYGBPC finalists as they deliver quick, impactful 2-minute pitches showcasing their unique solutions and progress since the previous edition of LKYGBPC. Connect and collaborate with them at the booth showcase at the Greenhouse Corridor.

Networking Lunch
Meet and network with diverse group of participants, including key representatives from Horizons Ventures and Philanthropy Asia Alliance, alongside corporate leaders and key contributors from the previous LKYGBPC edition — mentors, judges, sponsors, and finalists. Additionally, startups and students from various Institutes of Higher Learning are invited to join and engage in this dynamic gathering.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage directly with innovators and explore future opportunities in the startup ecosystem.

This event is brought to you by SMU Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Horizons Ventures and Philanthropy Asia Alliance.
