About Event

The African Impact Conference is organized annually by the African Impact Initiative, an organization dedicated to building the future of the African continent and its diaspora community – by empowering early visionaries. Since inception A.I.I has supported thousands of young Africans through impact entrepreneurship, education & career development.

This year’s theme is Sanyiya, which means “mobilize” in the Chagga dialect from Tanzania. Attendees will engage through interactive panels; and learn about tailored solutions to their most pressing challenges as African immigrants in Canada. They will also leave with access to tailored scholarships, financial aid solutions, job opportunities and resources exclusively created for them as part of the African Impact BRIDGE Program. The aim of this conference is to serve as a rallying cry for responsible resource management, by determining a roadmap for effective collaboration and exploring innovative solutions for our sustainable development as Africans in Diaspora.

Free tasty African cuisine will be served, and the dress code is cultural wear from your country of origin! You can learn more about the panel conversations below:

Ujamaa: Financial Empowerment for Africans in Canada

Are there tailored solutions to the unique financial challenges we face as African immigrants across the continent, who have moved to Canada? What are they, and how do they work?

Building the BRIDGE: Integrating Africans into Canada

Can we wholistically integrate Africans moving to Canada from countries across the continent? From securing admissions with the lack of academic scholarships and expensive tuitions, to finding housing without a credit history, to staying connected with our home countries. If yes, how?

Sanyiya: Community Mobilization for a Sustainable Future

Can we effectively collaborate across different industries and cultural communities, as African immigrants in Canada? To build a sustainable and healthier future for our continent? How seriously should we take topics like ethical resource utilization, AI, climate change, and EDI policies in Canada?
