About Event

β€‹πŸŒŸ Join us for a discussion on the mental load that comes with the shift in our personal and professional identities as high-performing, working mothers.

You choose how you want to contribute to the conversation; turn on your camera, engage in the chat, or just listen.

β€‹πŸŒŸ What to expect (and what not to expect).

During this event, a roundtable of working mamas will share their honest experiences about what it was really like when they returned to work after maternity leave.

Even with a support system and financial stability, some women struggle during the postpartum period because their bodies (and brains) change drastically.

β€‹πŸ’ž We're hosting this event to bring awareness to the challenges working mothers might face, and to provide practical suggestions not just platitudes.

β€‹βœοΈ Rules

1. Practice empathy and compassion. No judgment of anyone, including yourself.

2. Ask for permission before offering advice. Even our best intentions can be misconstrued as "You're doing it wrong."

3. Release expectations of how you "should" show up or where you "should" be.

❗ We're serious about keeping this a safe space. Your registration must be approved first.

If we cannot verify your identity, then your registration will be denied. If you break any of the rules during the event, you will be removed from the event without warning.

β€‹πŸŽ€ Your Host

Hey, I'm Susan! I'm a women empowerment career coach and workshop facilitator.

I'm ten months post-partum and running my own business. When I returned to work at three months, I was prepared for the sleep deprivation and scheduling around daycare.

I wasn't prepared for how the cognitive effects of giving birth would mess with my identity as a high-performer. At best, the mom brain is funny, but at worst, I was struggling to keep a coherent thought together.

When I asked my [mom] friends why they didn't warn me about this, their responses were similar: "I forgot."

Rather than relying on what we see on social media, I'm bringing together women who want to have a real conversation about the mental load of motherhood that isn't shown online.

You can learn more about me and check out my 🌢️ content on LinkedIn.
