About Event

Join the SRC and our friends at other post secondary student associations to celebrate and kick-off PRIDE Month with an evening with Jonathan Van Ness.

Jonathan Van Ness is an Emmy-nominated television personality, New York Times best-selling author, podcaster, and hairstylist to the stars. He stars on Netflix’s Emmy Award-winning reboot series “Queer Eye,” where he shines as the hair guru and self-care advocate.

Jonathan is passionate about using his platform and voice for change. As an avid supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, he worked closely with Planned Parenthood and The Trevor Project on campaigns tied to the release of his book that focused on removing the shame and stigma that comes along with talking about sexual health, as well as the long-lasting effects of bullying and how to overcome it.

This evening will be moderated by Spencer West, Toronto based gay and disabled activist. Spencer is a best selling author and dynamic speaker who shared his personal journey from losing both legs as a child, to climbing – and summiting – Mount Kilimanjaro using his hands and wheelchair, Spencer’s words and actions have encouraged millions to stand up, face challenges and embrace change.

Register today and join us in this Pride Month kick-off event!
