✨June 2023 Community Jam✨

Join us for our June Community Jam on Trans Inclusion 🏳️‍⚧️!

To close out the end of Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈, we will hold an interactive workshop on how to be better advocates for trans rights and disrupt the system with our organizations/clients.

Community member Max Masure (They/Them) — an Inclusive UX Strategist, Inclusion Consultant and author of You (Don’t) Suck: How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome — will lead us through the discussion and exercises!

Agenda:

  • Introductions: Get to know your hosts & fellow attendees

  • Understanding Lived Experiences: What do lived experiences look and feel like for trans people (especially with regards to digital products & services)?

  • Best Practices: How can we design more trans inclusive user experiences?

  • What's Next: What can you start to do tomorrow?

This session will be fully interactive with exercises and open discussion — you'll have a chance to ask questions throughout.

Accessibility & Inclusion Considerations

  • You can choose to lean in and actively participate or step back and follow along.

  • We'll be using FigJam and Zoom chat and will offer alternative ways to participate if these tools are inaccessible to you.

  • We will provide closed captions, live transcripts and visual descriptions to the best of our ability.

Please send us any other accommodation requests upon signing up and we'll do our best to honor them!

📚 If you can't make it, we'll send out a recording (if all attendees consent to this) afterwards to all those who register as well as our community members.

Who are we?

We are the Inclusive Design Jam, an inclusive design learning community committed to making the access and use of products, services and environments equal to all. We meet in monthly jam sessions and in our Slack group to explore and workshop topics related to inclusive and equitable design.

The community and jam sessions are proudly hosted by Sandra Camacho (She/Her), aka Sandra By Design, an independent inclusive design consultant and educator based in Paris, France.
