Board Membership Insights, DECA Diversity Working Group

We are delighted to invite you to an inspiring and empowering event hosted by the Diversity working group of DECA (previously Blockchain Australia).

This session is designed to educate and inform diverse groups about the pathway to board membership and the essential skills needed to succeed.

One of DECA DWG's primary goals is to enhance representation on boards, and this event is a key part of that mission.

We are also excited to announce that we have partnered with DECA Young Professionals for this event, further enhancing our commitment to fostering diverse leadership in the blockchain industry.


Speakers:

  • Lisa Wade: Gain insights from a current board member about the responsibilities and experiences of serving on the board of Blockchain Australia.

  • Karen Cohen: A former board member, Karen will share her expertise, challenges, and the key skills she developed during her tenure.

  • Caroline Bowler: As CEO of BTC Markets, Caroline will offer her perspective on how industry trends and market dynamics influence board decisions and governance in the blockchain space.

  • Alice Dillon: With extensive experience in risk and governance, Alice will discuss the key roles, functions, duties and responsibilities of boards and directors along with the potential consequences of getting it wrong.

  • Sam Kendall: Representing the voice of the younger generation, Sam will provide unique insights on how to engage and involve youth in governance and decision-making processes.

  • Rachael Jones: As Chair of DECA Young Professionals and Secretary for WOBA, Rachael brings expertise in cross-generational collaboration and inclusive governance practices.
