POETIC PERSPECTIVES
BIPOC Book Fest is excited to present "POETIC PERSPECTIVES", in collaboration with Pendlum Productions.
This cross-disciplinary poetry experience and mixer invites people across different communities and industries to come together and celebrate poetry—in honor of National Poetry Month—in all of its different facets and from different perspectives.
This event also brings buzz and updates for the annual BIPOC Book Fest, coming up on May 3rd, and also anticipates the upcoming book launch of Mr. Pendlum's Compendium—"Quirky Characters and Quotes".
The program will feature poetry readings and presentations (including visual and musical poetry, an art exhibition on display, and fun ice-breaker activities—such as our interactive "Little Poetry Wall" and our poetry book "Swap 'n Share". So we encourage you to bring along a poetry book—whether you want to swap it, or just share with others!
RUN OF SHOW:
1pm PRE-OPENING: Paper Co. is a beautiful cafe open to the public, so we encourage you to come early, read a bit of poetry over a cup of coffee, and get settled in for the mingling and poetry presentations!
2pm RECEPTION: Event reception officially opens and the mingling begins—with ice breaker activities, such as the poetry book "Swap 'n Share", and our "Little Poetry Wall".
3pm POETRY PRESENTATIONS: The main poetry presentations begin. Several writers and poets will read and showcase their work. The presentation will span across various disciplines, including visual and even musical poetry. Featured artists include Fernando J. Moguel, creator of Mr. Pendlum's Compendium. We will end the poetry readings with an interactive Q&A artist panel session.
5:30 EXTENDED MINGLING: Let the mingling and connections continue! The idea is to enable people across different industries and communities meet, connect, and share their love of poetry!
