Tea Tasting (Members and +1s)
By popular request again, more tea! We will intentionally taste and take joy in some fine tea.
Please bring a tiny cup for tasting.
I will bring
pinnacle-grade matcha imported from Kyoto
macarons
Hojicha (roasted green tea, savory, refreshing, and slightly smokey).
You are invited (but not required!) to bring one or more of:
a fine tea
tiny dessert pairing (emphasis on tiny to focus on the tea)
If you bring tea, please also try to bring a brewing vessel so if we get a lot of tea, it can help us brew in parallel.
Cultural fact: Matcha is traditionally served with a tiny sweet called "wagashi" to coat the palate before the tea is consumed. There is a traditional craft of sculpting delicate matcha sweets in the shapes of motifs such as flowers or fruits, as a celebration of the beauty of the changing seasons.
