About Event

Join us for our very first Hacksummit Welcome Party and join forces to protect our Swiss Natural Landscape and biodiversity.

You can expect great food and drinks, and a lot of climate-passionate people from founders to investors and industry leaders.

We will support ASL, a local association active since 1980, working actively (since 1980) to safeguard the water quality and the aquatic ecosystem of our lake and its many rivers.

Why should you care?

Lake Geneva is Western Europe's largest freshwater reserve. But Climate change is threatening its delicate ecosystem.

🦠 Rise in temperature prevent our lake from mixing in winter, depraving fish and other freshwater species from crucial nutrients and leading to alagae bloom in summer time.

🦪 The same issue is messing with species balances, favouring some who might become invasive, such as quagga mussels and negatively impacting others.

🦆 Last but not least, microplastics are directly impact the lake wildlife, leading to fatal obstruction of the digestive system for birds, fish and mammals.

What's the plan for the evening:

17:30 - let's meet at the Pyramid the Vidy to discover the Lake Leman ecosystem with ASL team (optional)

18:30 - let's the fun begins, join us at the Jardin de Pam (see address below) for drinks and fun

19:00 - presentation of ASL by its Director, Suzanne Mader

20:00 - Raffle and games

21:00 - Closing of the events

This event is a part of #HackWeek - a full week of community-led events for founders & funders in Climate Tech, culminating with the HackSummit.
