The Editors: Eat, Sip, & Read | A Pub Chat with Author Stephen Harrison at Churchill Tavern NYC
I’m excited to invite you to an informal gathering where we’ll chat about The Editors—my suspense novel inspired by Wikipedia—over food & drinks at the Churchill Tavern in NYC.
We’ve reserved a cozy space upstairs, right by the fireplace in the main room. It’s the perfect spot to relax, ask me questions about the book, get your copy signed, or even pick one up if you don’t have it yet (subject to availability). The Churchill is known for its Sunday Roast, so you can enjoy that too while we hang out. Drinks will be available (grab a pint if you’re in the mood!) and just a heads-up, all checks will be separate.
After traveling the world to talk about The Editors, I’m looking forward to connecting with New York readers in a more laid-back setting.
About the Book
As you know, crowdsourced internet encyclopedias—most notably, Wikipedia—have a massive influence on the stories we tell about our past and the way we move forward into the future. The volunteer editors behind these platforms take their roles seriously, but what happens when that power gets manipulated?
That’s the setup for THE EDITORS. In the novel, a freelance journalist attends the global conference for Infopendium (think of it as Wikipedia’s fictional counterpart) expecting to write a straightforward story about the editors—everyone from PhDs to high school students—debating the encyclopedia’s rules. But when a hacker leaves a cryptic message, it triggers an online information war that has very real-world consequences.
So join me for an afternoon of casual conversation about THE EDITORS, internet communities, and the battle for truth in the digital age. I’d love to meet you at the Churchill Tavern and connect!
