KSR x TCI IRL: Making a Living as an Artist

​KSR x TCI IRL: Making a living as an artist is a free event featuring TCI zines, a DJ set from Rahill Jamalifard, informal conversation, and more.

​TCI IRL is a series of free in-person events curated by The Creative Independent that support creativity, facilitate meaningful conversation, and build community by bringing together a wide variety of people who create with people who enjoy being exposed to a wide variety of artistic endeavors.

​The Creative Independent (TCI) is a growing resource of emotional and practical guidance for creative people, published ad-free by Kickstarter, a public-benefit corporation. 

​Rahill Jamalifard is a multidisciplinary artist, musician, and DJ. For TCI IRL, she will DJ a set blending spiritual and free jazz, soul, reggae, funk, and more. Her own musical output (both solo and in her band Habibi) alchemizes a range of influences that gesture towards the modes and melodies of the Iranian American household in which she was raised.

​Selva is a new art gallery, record Store, and bar located in Bushwick, which was opened in February 2023 by David Castillo, one of the owners of the iconic Greenpoint metal bar, Saint Vitus.
