About the Event
Welcome to Holocene's Climate Exploration small group sessions!

At Holocene, we're committed to supporting visionary entrepreneurs who transform the climate crisis into scalable, investable innovation opportunities. Our small group sessions provide fertile ground for discussion, debate, and collective action on critical themes, including conservation, energy, e-mobility, gender investing, and the blue economy. These gatherings bring together a diverse group of global thought leaders, entrepreneurs, angel investors, institutions, and conservation enthusiasts. We invite you to join us, bringing your laughter, curiosity, experiences, and positive energy to these engaging sessions.

Climate Exploration: E-Mobility

Transport accounts for just 25% of global emissions—but nearly 37% of climate tech investment. Why? Because electric mobility is one of the most measurable, cost-effective, and scalable climate solutions out there.

Africa is catching up fast. In fact, 2025 could be the first year climate tech outpaces fintech in VC funding, with e-mobility emerging as a key driver. Southern Africa, long overlooked, is now ripe for innovation—with rising fuel prices, EV-friendly policies, and booming delivery markets creating ideal conditions for growth.

Join us on Wednesday 23 July for an intimate session exploring the future of e-mobility in Africa. We will be joined by two of our portfolio companies Michael Maas (Zimi Charge) and Wahlied Cole (ScootHero), Thinus Booysen (Stellenbosch University) and Kanyisa Mzilikazi (Development Bank of South Africa).

This intimate gathering will bring together a small group of diverse and insightful attendees, offering a unique opportunity for deep discussions and idea-sharing. We hope to see you there!
