More about Matthew S. Cleare, CGMA, CPA
Matthew became a Partner at Davis & Hodgdon in 2023. He is a graduate of Champlain College, and completed the Leadership Champlain program in 2018. His specialties include accounting, business management, tax, and finance, and he has many years of experience preparing tax returns, providing advisory services and performing audits and other attestation engagements for a variety of not‐for‐profit and corporate clients. He also manages the Convergent Accounting division of the Davis & Hodgdon Advisory Group.
Matt is very active in the community currently serving as Chair on the Vermont Society of CPAs (VTCPA) Board, Business and Math Advisory Board of Community College of Vermont (CCV), and he is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). He resides in St. Albans with his wife and three children. Matt and his wife Ashley also own and operate Rail City Market in Saint Albans.

Breanna Sykes is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) and Senior Wealth Advisor with Copper Leaf Financial. She has a B.S. in Business and Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in entrepreneurship from Bellevue University. Breanna is part of Copper Leaf’s team of advisors responsible for providing advisory and investment management services to clients. Breanna has a passion for educating clients about their finances and teaching them how to plan for the future in order to learn how to retire. She enjoys taking the time to understand her client’s goals and lifestyles in order to provide the best service possible. She also focuses on employee and employer plan benefits, insurance planning, intergenerational planning, and retirement planning.
Breanna grew up in the Adirondacks and spent 10 years in South Carolina before moving back to Vermont where she spent much of her childhood. She resides in Monkton with her husband Jon and three children.
