Speaker Bios

Binghao Huang: Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Columbia University, advised by Prof. Yunzhu Li. His research focuses on robot learning, with a specialization in dexterous manipulation and multi-modal perception for robotics. Binghao has further enriched his expertise through practical experience at the NVIDIA Seattle Robotics Lab, bridging the gap between cutting-edge academic research and industry-scale application.

Dr. Steve Xie: the Founder and CEO of Lightwheel, a company building next-generation simulation and synthetic data infrastructure to power the future of embodied AI. Under his leadership, Lightwheel partners with leading organizations like NVIDIA, DeepMind, Figure, and Stanford University to accelerate robotics research and deployment. Steve is a recognized expert in the field, having previously pioneered autonomous driving simulation platforms at both NVIDIA and Cruise. There, he architected large-scale synthetic data pipelines that set new industry benchmarks for realism and effective Sim2Real transfer. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University and a B.S. in Physics from Peking University.

Tom Zhang: the Founder and CEO of Daxo Robotics, a company revolutionizing robotics through the development of ultra-redundant, high-dimensional robotic hands powered by hundreds of actuators. His vision is rooted in deep technical expertise; he earned his Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania's renowned GRASP Lab, where his research focused on novel robot modeling at the intersection of AI and complex dynamical systems. Before founding Daxo, Tom accumulated extensive industry experience at iRobot, Uber's Advanced Technologies Group (ATG), and Rapyuta Robotics. He is a dual-degree graduate of Cornell University, holding a Bachelor's in both Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
