Published is Better Than Perfect
Join us for a public session of a Foster Writing Circle, where we work towards building confidence in publishing.
This is for those who know they have something to say, but seem to fall apart before they hit ‘publish’.
Each session is built around a one-word prompt, which the group will write about in any way they wish, with the goal being to hit ‘publish’ at the end of the circle - regardless of the medium.
Nick is a writer who doesn’t spend too much time stressing about getting drafts perfect before publishing. The act of publishing, and the reception of the piece, shows time and time again what needs to be improved, and the learning/editing process is as much a living piece of the work as the writing itself.
Born in Melbourne but, but living in Germany, Nick loves to bring people together from all over and discover the different perspectives a single word prompt can inspire in people. He enjoys holding space and likes to encourage people to get it done while having fun.
Er spricht auch Deutsch, also falls Sie in Ihrer Muttersprache zusammen schreiben möchten, sagen Sie einfach Bescheid!
Writers will have 30 minutes to write on the prompt, 10 minutes to go into breakout rooms and share/listen to the other’s work and feedback, and 20 minutes to make some edits/changes/improvements before returning.
Then, writers will publish their pieces together. Celebrations may run on well into the night, but the circle will have 15 minutes set aside for this.
