  2. You can participate in and experience an interactive special exhibit and then proceed to the dinner space.

Please note that we must advise you on two important pieces of information regarding the Atomium visit.

  1. Please avoid the exhibit if you suffer from seizures or are sensitive to light and sound.

  2. As you'll read below, the Atomium was built in the 50's before accessibility was really taken into consideration. It is not a wheelchair friendly space.

Accessibility

  • Dinner Sphere: Take an elevator from ground floor then walk 60 steps down to the sphere.

  • Exhibition Tour: Take escalators to the exhibition space. After the exhibition you will take stairs to the central sphere and then stairs down to the Dinner Sphere (Prigogine)

  • If you have concerns or questions, please email ipfs-thing-2023@ipfs.io

About the Atomium

The Atomium was designed and built for the Brussels World's Fair (1958), for which it was the flagship building and emblem. Representing an iron unit cell (9 iron atoms) magnified 165 billion times, the monument with its unique silhouette has, over time, grown to become the symbol of Brussels and Belgium.
