Mission Matters is proud to announce the Mission Matters Leadership Conference.

This inaugural gathering of CEOs, senior executives of larger firms, investors, media, and thought leaders represents the culmination of 7 years of building the Mission Matters Community, which includes 6,000+ podcast interviews and 100,000+ pieces of content distributed across platforms such as Forbes, USA Today, Yahoo! Jim Ellis:

Jim Ellis was the Dean of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California from April 2007 until June 2019, where he was responsible for the education and well-being of some 5700 students, both graduate and undergraduate.  In addition, he had a full time tenured appointment as Professor of Marketing where he was since 1997, retiring in July 2021.  Prior to being appointed Dean, he was the Vice Provost, Globalization, for the University, responsible for building the USC name worldwide. At USC, he was awarded both the “Teaching Has No Boundaries” award, given by the faculty, and the Golden Apple Award, given by the students.  He also was given the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award from the USC Parents’ Association, and was named one of the top five professors at the University of Southern California by the students. Holding an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School and a BBA degree from the University of New Mexico, Mr. Ellis worked in the business world as President/CEO of Porsche Design, a high-end accessories company owned by Europe’s Porsche family.  Additionally, he was CEO of Port O’Call Pasadena, a high end home accessory chain, and owner/ partner in six other companies.  He started his career with Broadway Department Stores in Los Angeles.


Vasa Martinez:

As the CMO of Outer Aisle, Vasa led the marketing strategy and execution, resulting in a 5001% growth rate from 2018 to 2021 and landing the company on the Inc. 500 for three years straight. Vasa has over ten years of experience growing some of America's fastest-growing food and beverage brands. He is the founder and CEO of growthbuster, a remote marketing agency that specializes in marketing, sales, and operations. He has also established growthbuster as a CPG marketing powerhouse, ranking #15 on AdWeek's list of fastest-growing agencies in 2021 and #43 on Inc. 500's list of fastest-growing companies in the Pacific region in 2022.  In addition, Vasa launched his own low-sugar soda company, Perfy, in February 2022, with a mission to support metabolic and cognitive health. The company is a tribute to his late mother, whom he nicknamed “Perfy” as a kid, as well as the 12+ other friends and family Vasa has lost since 2018. Vasa is a proven strategic thinker and integrated marketer whose ingenuity, passion, and tenacity make him an invaluable partner for emerging and established brands.


Adam Cheyer:

Inventor, entrepreneur, engineering executive, and a pioneer in AI and computer human interfaces. He currently serves as VP of AI Experience at Airbnb. Adam has been a co-founder or founding member of five successful startups, including Siri (sold to Apple, where he led server-side engineering and AI for the Siri assistant), Change.org (the world's largest petition platform), Viv Labs (sold to Samsung, where he led product engineering and developer relations for Samsung’s voice assistant), Sentient (massively distributed machine learning), and GamePlanner.AI (helping the world make better decisions, acquired by Airbnb). Previously, Adam was VP Engineering at Verticalnet (enterprise software) and Dejima (mobile software). Adam also spent more than a decade at SRI International, where his most recent role was as Chief Architect of CALO/PAL, the US government's largest funded AI project. Adam has authored more than 60 publications and 39 patents. He graduated with highest honors from Brandeis University and received the “Outstanding Masters Student” award from UCLA’s School of Engineering.
