About Event

Join Institute on Aging (IOA) for the Q4 in-person #TechTalk event at the Enrichment Center in the Presidio, San Francisco on Nov 14. The event will kick off with a presentation and Q&A by behaviour change expert Karen Horgan, followed by a presentation and discussions with a selection of tech startups in the AI, dementia, and care innovation space.

The first two events this year (March and July) featured promising speakers and attracted hundreds of attendees.

This event is FREE and designed to inform and educate members of the public as well as IoA's broader partner community. Please RSVP below and cancel if you can't make it so that we can manage number of catering.

Format & Agenda

The event will start with a keynote (15mins + 5mins Q&A) by Karen Horgan, CEO of VAL Health. Then each startup will have 8 minutes to present their company, followed by a moderated Q&A.

ABOUT THE KEYNOTE

Karen Sussman Horgan, CEO and co-founder of VAL Health, the leading behavioral economics consulting firm, will speak about the power of behavioral economics and how it can be used to nudge health actions and drive digital health engagement. 

She will provide an overview of the science based on published studies from her Wharton school co-founders, and share real world case studies from clients including Livongo, Verily and Sutter Health which yielded 35% enrollment increase and 2.1x preventive screening rates.

Note: IOA is not endorsing any of these companies in particular. This is a fast-moving area, and we are looking to engage and build relationships with those on the front lines of innovation to constantly improve our programs.
