About Event

Allow your child to be the hero of their learning journey, and be guided by their intrinsic strengths and motivations. They will learn all they need to know!

How do you make sure your child learns enough if they are allowed to follow their own interests?

What if all they are interested in is playing Minecraft all day long?

It’s a common fear among parents, you’re not alone in worrying.

Your job as a parent is to prepare your child for their future, by making sure that they learn all they need to know.

How can you be sure that they are learning if they’re not following the standard curriculum? Won’t they fall behind their peers?

Self Directed Education expert Gina Riley has worked with countless families, and studied extensively to understand how children learn, and she is joining us to reassure you that you don’t have to worry.

If children are left to explore their interests, they don’t need to be motivated by anyone else to learn. They want to learn. Think how much your child knows about their latest obsession… did they learn that because someone told them to, or because they want to?

Learning is an innate survival skill for humans. We don’t do it because someone tells us to. We do it because our brains are naturally wired to do so. We are all born with the intrinsic motivation to learn.

It could be argued that school, and being told what to learn, strips us of this. Where is the joy and passion in learning something you’re bored by?

Gina passionately believes that if we allow children to follow their interests and strengths, that learning is a natural and inevitable by-product.

Join us to learn from her wisdom and research, and find out how you can help your child work with their strengths and interest to thrive in passion-led, self-directed learning.
