What's next after academia? Key paths to maximize your climate impact
👋 Hi!
You applied to the Inflection Award because you believe your research can make an impact — and we do too.
Inflection isn’t just an award. It’s a platform for researchers like you who want to take their work beyond the lab. Whether it’s exploring opportunities outside academia, learning how to commercialize your research, or connecting with role models who’ve done it before, we’re here to help — starting with the following webinar.
On Wednesday, March 26 at 5 PM CET, we will host a session focused on making the leap from academia to entrepreneurship to maximize your impact in climate.
This 1h session will be led by 3 panelists from Marble, a climate deeptech company builder partnering with scientists to solve hard climate problems:
Ingrid El Helou, PhD (@Cambridge University) has led cleantech research on topics such as SAFs, hydrogen, aerospace engineering & other decarbonization pathways. She currently supports 3 companies in Marble's portfolio spanning across different energy systems.
Walter Johnsen, PhD (@University of Pennsylvania) has extensive expertise across CO2 valorisation, ammonia and hydrogen. He has led the development of 5 companies - and continues to work on cutting-edge chemistry ventures.
Edgar Ke, Materials Science Engineer (@UTT) has worked with deeptech organisations such as Hello Tomorrow and Bell Labs, incubating and accelerating early stage startups. At Marble, he supports portfolio founders on talent & market development.
They will share some common challenges when transitioning to entrepreneurship, lessons learned from building 7 deeptech startups, and what topics we’re excited about in 2025! They will also host a live Q&A session - so please prepare any burning questions you may have.
