About Event

Hello Climate Collective San Diego! Our next meetup will be Wednesday, June 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Muri Cafe in North Park.

As always, join us to talk about climate solutions, tech, and policy. This meetup in particular will be focused on demystifying climate policy and policy action here in San Diego. A group of CCSD members and collaborators will discuss climate policy and its importance from the federal level down to San Diego. We’ll also be discussing how to take action and influence policy that tackles climate change.

Three speakers will be guiding the discussion: Anne Usher, senior resilience and sustainability advisor for the International Sustainable Resilience Center and a climate policy whiz, will speak about federal and state climate policy. Ramon Chairez, education coordinator with Un Mar De Colores, will be speaking about the successful campaign to designate the Tijuana River as one of the top 10 most endangered rivers in the US. Finally, Evan Shulman, a climate brand strategist with SD based Four Fin Creative, climate solutions media producer with NYC based Future Meets Present, and a climate organizer, will be speaking on ways to get involved here in San Diego to influence local climate policy as well as in nationally important local campaigns.

We are looking to highlight lower carbon transport methods by aiming to host our events in locations near public transit infrastructure. Muri Cafe is located just off the 120 & 10 bus lines, and near the 1, 2, 11, & 215 bus lines. There is also parking in the neighborhood both North & South of University Ave.
