Realities of Climate Tech in 2025 and Beyond
Can we scale fast enough and drive enough impact through technology?
The next decades will be full of climate-related challenges - and with that, also full of opportunities. If we do it right, act fast, and with audacious goals and big ambitions we might come out better on the other side.
The panels will discuss what is being done to scale climate tech across sectors in 2025 and beyond.
Panel 1: Scaling Climate Tech - We’re racing past 1.5 degrees, now what?
The next decades will be full of climate-related challenges - and with that, also full of opportunities. If we do it right, act fast, and with audacious goals and big ambitions we might come out better on the other side.
We invite five speakers who actively work on scaling climate technologies to speak about how they see the state of the climate-ecosystem, if we are moving fast enough, how big we need to think and act, and what goals we should set ourselves to revert the climate emergency we are rushing toward.
Panelists:
Jinal Surti - Epoch
Moderator: Philip Stehlik @ Earth
Panel 2: Powering Tomorrow: Climate Tech's Energy Revolution
With electricity demand skyrocketing and the growth rates accelerating with AI and electric transport demands, and 800 million people still lack electricity, merely transitioning from fossil fuels to renewables will fall short. We need massive amounts of new capacity to power these needs. But where will it come from, what’s the mix of energy sources, and in what timeframes?
The panel will address these questions and discuss the opportunities and tradeoffs for non-carbon sources like solar/batteries, wind, and nuclear, as well as where traditional fossil fuels might be needed (or not) to bridge the supply gap for the next 10-15 years.
Panelists:
Sandra Trittin - Founder & CEO @ Futurize Energy
David Hamilton Nichols - Investor and Advisor @ David Hamilton Nichols, Inc.
Abby Ross - CEO @ The Resiliency Company
Moderator: Scott Wharton - CEO @ Tandem PV
