About Event

Welcome to the ICP Hackathon Challenge - Spiced for Europe, a virtual hackathon designed to fuse the innovative spirit of the Internet Computer Protocol with the vibrant tech community of Europe, powered by Spiced.

This hackathon is a call to action for developers who dare to dream big and are eager to create blockchain-powered solutions that cater specifically to the European market.

About ICP:

The Internet Computer extends the functionality of the public internet from a network that connects billions of people to a public compute platform that hosts and runs smart contracts and software, entirely on-chain.

About Spiced:

Spiced Academy, located in Berlin, is known for its comprehensive programs in areas such as Web Development, Data Science, Data Analytics, and UI/UX Design. With a community of over 2500 alumni, Spiced plays a significant role in the tech education landscape in Europe. In partnering with us for the "ICP Hackathon Challenge - Spiced for Europe," Spiced leverages its network and educational insights to enrich the hackathon experience. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between technical skills and market needs, providing participants with valuable resources and guidance for developing regionally relevant blockchain applications.

FAQ

  • Is there a registration fee? No, joining the “ICP Hackathon Challenge - Spiced for Europe” is completely free via Dacade.

  • Are there specific qualifications needed to participate?Participants should have a keen interest in blockchain technology and one of the teammate must be based in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or the Netherlands.

  • How do I submit my project? Submit a project description and a GitHub link on the Dacade challenge page.

  • What development environments are recommended? You can use SDKs like Motoko, Rust, or any other compatible with ICP development.

  • Does the project need to be fully functional? No, teams are not required to present a fully functional project. However, you must submit a video presentation of your dApp concept, which includes ICP smart contracts previously developed in Dacade ICP challenges, showcases at least 3 screens, and outlines your approach to localization for the European market.

  • Can I use a pre-existing project? You must use the ICP smart contracts you previously developed during Dacade ICP challenges. While the foundational smart contracts should be ones you've worked on before, the dApp concept, including the video presentation, screens, and localization approach, should be newly created for this hackathon. This ensures that while leveraging past work, the project submission is fresh and tailored specifically for the "ICP Hackathon Challenge - Spiced for Europe."

  • Do I need to be online throughout the hackathon? No, but regular check-ins on Dacade for updates and collaboration are encouraged.

  • Who owns the IP? The developing team owns the project IP, but the code must be open source for judging purposes.
