TOO MUCH Karaoke /// With more than enough Misha Glouberman
KARAOKE! The “twist” is that I will sing more than my fair share of the songs.
I want to capture some of what I love about my favorite karaoke nights - Jean Darlene, Hot Breath, Mamas - are all high-energy, high-commitment nights. But with my own flavour. Dancing is encouraged! Singing along is encouraged! Over-the-top performances are definitely encouraged.
You don’t have to be a good singer. You don’t have to sing at all. You do have to come to this!
It is upstairs at See-scape, which if you have not been there, is a really amazing place unlike any I know of in the city: a tiny sci-fi-themed goth board game cafe with a cosplay vibe and a punk showbar upstairs.
Show up at 9:00 for a drink. We’ll start singing around 9:30 or so. Go till whenever.

“To be great at karaoke, you don’t have to be a great singer, you just have to commit. In fact, you have to over-commit. Whatever your skill level, every great karaoke performance involves reaching a bit beyond your grasp”
- Marylin Vos Savant, world’s highest IQ and former Parade Magazine columnist

“The best karaoke performances are ones where you feel simultaneously impressed by the performer, and slightly embarrassed for them”
- Professor Charles Francis Xavier, X-men leader
