DPW 2025 | Virtual Forum | Balancing the Scale: Allyship as a Strategic Tool for Gender Equitable Leadership
As India approaches its centenary of independence, Dasra Philanthropy Week (DPW) 2025 will serve as a powerful platform to collectively envision a future rooted in equity, resilience, and opportunity for all. Anchored in the theme Rising@2047, this convening will bring together visionary leaders, philanthropists, and changemakers to explore bold, collaborative pathways to address systemic challenges and foster inclusive growth.
About The Session
Despite progress, gender equity in leadership remains a persistent challenge. In India, women constitute 28.7% of the workforce at the entry level, but their representation dwindles to 18.6% at managerial levels and just 15.3% at the C-suite. This stark decline underscores systemic barriers that limit women’s advancement to senior leadership roles.
Allyship is a critical strategy to address these gaps. This session will explore the role of both male allies and women supporting women in advancing gender equity. Male allyship can challenge biases, drive cultural shifts, and open doors through advocacy, mentorship, and sponsorship. Equally, the solidarity and support of women for one another—whether as mentors, collaborators, or advocates—can create powerful networks that accelerate progress and dismantle systemic barriers.
Through evidence-based insights and real-world examples, the session will examine how allyship—across genders—can serve as a catalyst for systemic change. Participants will gain actionable strategies to foster allyship at individual, organizational, and systemic levels, creating a pathway for more inclusive leadership.
Link to the virtual forum will be shared closer to the date of the event.
