About Event

Purpose

To expand our community building efforts and help facilitate place-based, genuine connections for ND Connect members around Toronto

How to Join

To enable authentic connections and meaningful conversations, we're limiting this event to 8 spots. Event spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis so RSVP soon if you'd like to make it.

The Plan

We’ll meet at 5:30 and get snacks at Bom Dia Café & Bakery on Queen (why? Jacob mentioned going to Portugal once and loving these tarts but having a hard time finding good ones since his return to America. Since he’s in Toronto and we have one of the best food scenes imo, I’m on a mission to find some good ones so we'll embark on a little side quest here).

  • "Bom Dia offers a premium coffee with high quality bakery, embracing Portuguese traditions. Our mission is to deliver coffee and food that tastes amazing, so you can start the morning right with a smile!"

Then we’ll be off to Stackt market where we can walk around and check out what’s going on at their Spring Equinox Event. Two notable things happening there this Saturday:

After Stackt market, we'll probably be hungry so we'll go to FreshSlice Pizza (ND Connect will treat!).

Then around dusk we’ll head over to Trillium Park at Ontario Place, and check out Lumière: The Art of Light, a free outdoor light exhibition with imaginative art installations from 14 Ontario-based artists. We’ll end the night chatting around a cozy bonfire at the park before parting ways and heading home for the night.

What to Wear

  • Whatever makes you feel comfortable. If it helps, Eliana will be dressing for the weather with pants, warm socks, a lighter jacket and a sweater, and good walking shoes.

Accessibility info

  • The bakery does contain nuts - DM Eliana if you have any allergies we should be aware of

  • If you need financial support to make the most of the event, reach out and our team will do our best to see what we can do. We may be able to help pay for transit, cover some food costs during the event, etc.

  • Masks encouraged (especially indoors) for the event. Eliana will have some on hand in case anyone would like one.

  • We do plan to do a lot of walking. If you have mobility-related access needs, DM Eliana or email her at eliana@ndconnect.app and we'll work with you to ensure the event is accessible.

  • Let us know if there's anything else we can do to make this event work better for you!
