Kayak and Connect in Tomales Bay
ProgramEarth, a 501(c)3, and the Alliance for Felix Cove invite you and your ERG to come kayak and learn about the Tamal liwa (Tomales) Bay from the perspective of the Coast Miwok Peoples.
We’ll learn about the Coast Miwok communities and their ancestral homelands along Tamal liwa. We’ll see pelicans, ospreys, and seals, and learn about the geology of the Bay.
Our kayak guides are experienced and hold sea rescue certification. 🛟

8am
Arrive at Heart’s Desire Beach:
1100 Pierce Point Road, Inverness, CA 94937
To reach Heart's Desire Beach, you will drive approximately 1 mi into Tomales Bay State Park (stop at pay station for $8/car parking/entrance fee).
Once at beach, use restroom, adjust layers/shoes, put on sunscreen, fill water bottle.
8:30am
Tour meet-up time. Participants join Blue Waters Guides for intros and to receive instruction & paddling gear.
9:30am
On the water
11am: arrive at Felix Cove
11am-1pm: lunch and discussion/learning
1pm: set off from Felix Cove, back to the beach
2:30pm: **** Return to Heart's Desire Beach
What to bring:
Cash to tip guides
Sunscreen, hat & lip balm
Long-underwear, no cotton.
Quick-dry shorts or baggy nylon pants that can be rolled up.
Shoes you don't mind getting wet: sandals and wool socks, wetsuit booties, aqua socks or rubber boot in cool weather.
Windbreaker/rain jacket
Long sleeve: wool, capilene, poly pro, or some other synthetic material, no cotton.
Sweater: pile, fleece or wool pullover.
Change of clothes, including dry shoes.
1 liter (minimum) water bottle.
High-energy snacks or light lunch
*Come prepared for variable weather. Bring clothes that reflect your degree of sensitivity to heat and cold.
