Invite to the XR Hackathon - Fulton Market, Chicago
The XR Hackathon in Fulton Market, Chicago (August 12-13, 2023) is a dynamic event, targeting students and emerging developers interested in the field of Extended Reality (XR). The event focuses on WebAR, with the theme of "Start building for AR/VR - Evolving Industry into AR". Participants will have the opportunity to explore how established brands can evolve their branding through XR technology and will share their creations on Omnia, an augmented reality market place, to have their project voted on by industry experts.

The event starts at 10am CT (presentation will go on until 11am and then the Guest speaker will talk about real-life use cases of XR)

General intro on key terms and latest XR news

The use cases for each device: Winner-take-all or a Segmented Market?
The major industries and verticals to be disrupted from XR NOW vs. in the FUTURE

The event starts at 10am CT with a recap of the previous day + presentation leading to the VC talk

XReality Academy will talk about:

Throughout the event:
Mentors with expertise in XR, including Ian Curtis from 8th Wall, Michael Wren from AWE Night, a representative from Snapchat, Tom Shannon (Software Developer and XR Creator - Omnia), and Richard Borys, will provide guidance and support to participants
Projects will be uploaded to Omnia's platform for voting and evaluation by industry leaders
Sponsorship support from Niantic/8th Wall for food and prizes, with efforts to secure additional sponsorships from the Cubs, M1 Interactive, Teleportal, and others
The hackathon will emphasize AR creation, incorporating design and development principles, as well as novel technologies like AI
Participants will have ample networking opportunities, enabling them to connect with industry professionals and showcase their skills and creativity
