Portland Co-op Hangout
We are excited to make our way back to SymbiOp Garden Shop, a worker-owned ecological garden shop and landscaping cooperative since 2020!
Schedule:
6:15 - 7:00: How the worker-owned co-op started
7:00 - 8:15: Unfacilitated socializing and networking.
The food and drinks will be free while supplies last, thanks to Northwest Cooperative Development Center's sponsorship.
This is to make our events more accessible for working-class people who might not have the time or money to attend this event otherwise.
****************
Portland Co-op Hangout is a monthly gathering of people who are current members of a cooperative or are looking to join or start new cooperatives. The goal of this gathering is to cultivate a co-op ecosystem in Portland with the ultimate goal of creating a solidarity economy in Oregon. As of now, many of our attendees are from worker-owned co-ops, but we welcome people from other forms of cooperatives and aligned organizations too.
Most of the time, these gatherings will be informal and unfacilitated socializing, as a way for like-minded people from various co-ops to meet, be in solidarity with each other, share co-op ideas and lessons, vent about capitalism, or just to have fun! Sometimes we also have presentations, Q&A panels, collaborative workshops, facilitated discussions, games, etc.
Portland Co-op Hangout is organized by the Oregon New Economy Project (ONE) through Northwest Cooperative Development Center (NWCDC)
