​Hackathon Code of Conduct

Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for all participants at ALKIMI hackathon. We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.

Expected Behavior
• Be Respectful: Treat everyone with respect. Be considerate of others, and work to create a welcoming environment.
• Be Inclusive: We welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to, members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, color, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.
• Be Collaborative: Share knowledge, help each other, and collaborate. We are here to learn and grow together.
• Be Mindful: Pay attention to your surroundings and fellow participants. Alert hackathon staff if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct.

Unacceptable Behavior
• Harassment: Harassment includes offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
• Disruption: Sustained disruption of talks, workshops, or other events.
• Intimidation: Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following (online or in-person).
• Inappropriate Contact: Inappropriate physical contact, including without consent.
• Unwelcome Sexual Attention: Unwelcome sexual attention, including sexualized comments or jokes.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior from any participant, including sponsors and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the AD3X hackathon organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the hackathon.

Reporting
If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. Harassment and other Code of Conduct violations reduce the value of our event for everyone. We want you to be happy at the AD3X hackathon. People like you make our event a better place.
You can make a personal report by:
• Contacting a hackathon staff member, identified by shirts.
• Sending an email to [hello@kensaltensi.org].

When taking a personal report, our staff will ensure you are safe and cannot be overheard. They may involve other event staff to ensure your report is managed properly. Once safe, we'll ask you to tell us about what happened. This can be upsetting, but we'll handle it as respectfully as possible and you can bring someone to support you. You won't be asked to confront anyone and we won't tell anyone who you are.
