Innovation community nature walk (Tech Brews x Venturing Humans)
Welcome to the Sun edition of the Tech Brews SG x Venturing Humans event series! This special collaboration with Venturing Humans Hub brings you monthly hike networking, focusing on connecting with folks in the innovation and impact community while enjoying nature and supporting a good cause.
This edition is at Thomson Nature and Hainan Village Ruins.
It's open to all; anyone can drop by and network.
What to expect from this meetup:
Join us for a community walk at Thomson Nature Park, with an unique opportunity to explore the park’s rich biodiversity and uncover the intriguing abandoned Hainan Village ruins hidden within. Get a glimpse of the village’s remnants and a peek into history while enjoying a peaceful escape from the city. Embark on this curious journey to discover new community connections and experience a deeper connection to Singapore's natural and cultural heritage. We will end near an eatery where folks who like to continue with conversations can enjoy some brunch or local drinks together.
Fundraiser for Empower Ageing
This community walk is a mini fundraiser to support Empower Ageing. Empower Ageing, is on a mission to support vulnerable seniors in their transformation journeys to age well. They enable that through programmes to mitigate and even reverse declines or issues associated with ageing (such as reversing fragility). 100% of ticket proceeds will go to their cause. What to bring: Water, Raincoat/Umbrella and Insect Repellant. You're also encouraged to bring curiosity, inclusivity and kindness :)
Attire: Comfortable wear for walking in nature.
Who should Attend:
It's easy trail that takes roughly 2 hours, mostly on flat terrains.
Tickets limited to keep group size manageable. We encourage all participants to contribute a free-will donation of any amount you like to https://www.giving.sg/donate/campaign/venturing-humans-community-walks. Please keep a screenshot of your donation.

About the event series:
Tech Brews SG x Venturing Humans
Why walk/hike? The physical activity of moving forward (especially in a natural environment) as we talk helps us open our minds and break thinking patterns. It allows fluidity for people to move around, provides environmental stimulus to ignite our sense of wonder and allows time for people to be present for each other in the journey.
And the positive impact amplifies.. Beyond connecting individuals, we hope to raise awareness and money for a meaningful cause. For this exploration, all donations will go Empower Ageing. You may donate as you wish, we will send the giving.sg link to participants who are successfully confirmed for the walk.
Organizers:
This walk is co-organised by Hui Hong and Keerthana, in support of Empower Ageing. Hui Hong has much of her life exploring ways to apply innovation and an entrepreneurial approach for problems worth solving across varied contexts. she started Venturing Humans as a project to develop a community of purpose driven individuals who can support each other in their journeys and provide a regular watering hole for people to re-connect with humans and nature.
