Welcome to the first meetup of the Defense Community (DEFCOM). This community is for all innovators, investors, officials, and community leaders working in the defense space, including Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
Out goal is to create a meetup where we can exchange the news, ideas, resources available to the National Capital Region Defense innovators.
At this meetup, we will
discuss collaborations between different defense communities in the DMV review
sync our clocks and calendars (so we don’t end up with 7 events on the same night and then nothing for 4 days straight)
exchange ideas, venues, and sponsors
share your immense experience
did I mention having a good time? Yep, that too!

6:00-6:40 PM - networking
6:40–7:00 PM - announcements
7:00–8:00 PM - more networking
after 8:00 PM - we’ll head to a nearby bar (TBA at the event) for some unofficial fun

Transportation
Red Line - Farragut North is a 13-minute walk.
Silver & Orange Lines - Farragut West and Foggy Bottom are a 6-minute walk.
Street parking is limited.
There’s an underground parking garage in the building (Colonial Parking) open until 11p - $11/hr during the day, $8 in the evening. Typical total for the event is around $12.
Admission Criteria
We’ll admit everyone currently working in the defense space. Decisions will be based on your LinkedIn profile and any extra info you can share about yourself.
