2025 PROCON: HSC Chemistry (Hornsby)
What’s PROCON?
PROCON holiday courses are designed to accelerate into new HSC material, to give you a flying head start to Term 1. Keeping up with the course will ensure your foundation is solid while getting you comfortable on topics ahead. Project Academy’s overarching aim is for all its students to achieve a high Band 6 in all subjects in the HSC. PROCON is the very first element of this plan.
What You'll Be Learning
In a single day, we will tackle some of the most important concepts of HSC Chemistry: Dynamic Equilibrium. In this PROCON, we'll be exploring the concept of equilibrium by analysing the impact of thermodynamics on the reversibility of chemical reactions. We'll be using Le Chatelier's Principle to justify the shifts that occur when a system at equilibrium experiences a disturbance, and applying key exam techniques from the best educators in the state to smash HSC and Trial Module 5 Questions.
Timeline of the day
Section 1: Reversible Reactions (30 - 40 mins)
Break 1: 10 mins
Section 2: Dynamic Equilibria (30 mins)
Break 2: 10 mins
Section 3: Le Chatelier’s Principle (40 - 50 mins)
Break 3: 10 mins
Section 4: The Equilibrium Constant (40 mins)
Section 5: Applying the Concepts (any time left)
Who You'll Learn From
Jasmine Loh
Jasmine graduated from James Ruse with an ATAR of 99.65 with a 96 in Chemistry, and 96 in 3U Maths. She is known for her depth of knowledge and strength in teaching science subjects. She is a Chemistry teacher at Project Academy and is currently completing a bachelors degree at USYD.
Alan Zhang
Alan is one of Project Academy's most effective and engaging teachers. He graduated from Normanhurst Boys with an ATAR of 99.70 and ranked 1st internally for both Chemistry (96) and Biology. He currently studies a combined Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney.
Trisha Nangia
Trisha graduated at the top of her cohort at North Sydney Girls with a 99.85 ATAR, and ranked 6th in Chemistry, 1st in English Adv. and 4th in 3U Maths. Amongst students, she is known for her extension knowledge and understanding of content, and her ability to break down complex problems for her students.
